Collection maintenance works commencing in September

Murdoch University Library will shortly be commencing works to maintain our collection and improve the learning environment. While you may notice Library staff undertaking some of these works, this will not have an impact on our service offerings.

The Library recently completed a review of our print collection, working closely with academic staff to identify collection strengths and areas in need of development. As a result, a portion of our current collection has been identified for removal. The Library will commence the removal of these items in September, and will continue through the summer break.

The removal of these items will facilitate the growth of the collection in future to develop a stronger collection, and to enhance discovery, access and serendipitous opportunities.

The Library will continue to provide our full range of services, and we will endeavour to minimise disruption throughout this process. Consideration will be given to examinations and study breaks, to ensure that we maintain a conducive environment for learning and study.

We appreciate your understanding as we seek to further enrich the Library’s collection, and provide world-class services and environments to enhance teaching, learning and research experiences.
