University Library to be renamed in honour of Professor Geoffrey Bolton

We are delighted to announce that the University Library is to be renamed in honour of prominent historian and Murdoch icon, the late Professor Geoffrey Bolton.

The renaming recognises Professor Bolton’s wonderful contribution to Murdoch and the Western Australian community and ensures his legacy lives through the University Library. Professor Bolton was a passionate supporter of the Library which he continued to use as a base for his research until his death in 2015.

University Librarian Susan Ashcroft said the Library is humbled and honoured to be part of Professor Bolton’s legacy. “We look forward to ensuring his spirit of knowledge and wisdom lives on for many generations to come.”

The Library will be known as the Geoffrey Bolton Library and an official dedication ceremony and public exhibition will take place in the new year.
