New look service desk at South St Campus Library

Research data management presentations at Murdoch
All researchers are invited to attend a drop-in data clinic located at the Brian Hill Lecture Theatre on Monday 2nd December at 12 noon. This workshop will outline what data storage is available to researchers through iVEC and how they can access this. iVEC Data staff will also be on hand to review data tools, practices and workflows to help improve your workflows.

Document Delivery Service unavailable from Friday November 22 - Monday November 25 2013
The Library’s current document delivery system will not be available for new requests from Friday November 22. We will introduce a new service using Libraries Australia Enhanced Requesting on Monday 25 November 2013. ArticleReach and BONUS+ will still be available during this interim phase. If you have not yet saved your requested documents, or would like to save your request history, please ensure you do this before 22 November.

Extended Library opening hours during exam period
During the exam period (4th-22nd November 2013), the South St Campus Library will have extended opening hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8am – midnight
Friday: 8am – 6pm
Saturday: 8am – 5pm
Sunday: 10am – 5pm.

Thesis Binding and Newspaper Enquiries relocating to the Enquiry and Loans Desk on 30 September
The Library’s thesis binding service and newspaper enquiries counter will be relocating on 30 September to the Enquiry and Loans Desk on North Wing Level 3 of the South St Campus Library. The move will improve access, and increase the number of hours the service is offered.

Rockingham Library closed due to power outage
Rockingham Library has been temporarily closed due to an unexpected power outage.

The Library at our South Street Campus is extending its opening hours from the start of Semester 2.
Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 10:00pm (Study Hall from 7-10pm)
Friday - 8:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 – 5:00pm (Study Hall from 10am -12 noon)

For clarification, study hall refers to the hours the Library is open but which the Enquiries desk is not staffed (7-10pm).
This means that you will only be able to borrow items using the self-check machines.

Problem reported viewing eReserve documents
We have received a number of reports of error messages when opening eReserve documents. The error occurs using Internet Explorer, Chrome and Safari but not Firefox. We are investigating, but until this is resolved try using Firefox as your web browser.
Wireless printing available in the Library
Murdoch students and staff can now print to several printers in the South St Campus Library from their own device using the wireless network.

Library open early for first day of exams
The South St Campus Library will be open from 8.00am until 5.00pm on Saturday June 1 to cater for the first day of exams.
Opening hours for Western Australia Day
South Street and Rockingham Campus Libraries will be open as usual on Monday, 3 June (Western Australia Day). Peel Campus Library will be open from 9am – 4.00pm. Check our opening hours page for further details.

Library Display for May
Indigenous art is a vital part of the world's oldest continuous cultural tradition. Wenten Rubuntja, an Aboriginal landscape artist says it's hard to find any art that is devoid of spiritual meaning. Experience this richness by borrowing books and DVD’s on Aboriginal art & artists from Murdoch University Library.

Save paper and money - scan to USB
All photocopiers in the Library are set to scan documents to USB for free. If you don’t have a USB drive with you, you can buy one at the Enquiry Desk at the South St Campus Library.

O week
Welcome to the Library for new and returning students. To help find your way around the Library, come on a library tour. If you are studying externally, come along to the External Studies Information Evening to find out more about what the Library offers external students. Borrow books for longer
We have increased the length of time undergraduate students can borrow books. You can now borrow up to 15 books at a time for 6 weeks rather than 4 weeks. Check the How to borrow page for more details on borrowing, renewing and requesting books.
